Ballygall Road East is where most lessons begin. The road is residential on both sides, with parked cars pushing you towards the centre line. You learn quickly to read oncoming traffic and hold your position. That skill alone carries you through a lot of the Finglas test.

Glasnevin Hill is around the corner and it is steep. Hill starts at the traffic lights there catch first-timers rolling back. Your instructor works on clutch control and handbrake release here until it is second nature, not a source of panic.

Finglas Road (R135) is the dual carriageway a few minutes away. Fast traffic, bus lanes, and lorries merging. We bring you here once your lane positioning is solid, usually from lesson five or six onwards.

Pickup points include the Tolka Valley Park car park, Ballygall Community Centre on Ballygall Road East, and the bus stops on Ballygall Road itself. Female instructors are available on request.

Manual lessons cost €53.27 single, €49 per lesson on the 12-pack, or €52.50 per lesson on the 6-pack. Full EDT is €587.95 manual or €659.24 automatic. Pretest is €183.63 manual or €193.81 automatic, car hire included. Automatic single lessons are €61.41, or €54.94 per lesson on the 12-pack.
