Kildare Road is the setting for your first two lessons. It is long and quiet enough to repeat gear changes and road positioning without traffic pressure. The speed ramps help you find a natural braking point and the parked cars on both sides teach early mirror awareness.
Learn about EDTL3-4: Direction Changes and Speed
The estates off Windmill Road give you a network of residential junctions to practise direction changes. You learn to signal early, choose your approach speed, and read priority at each T-junction. Lesson four pushes towards Crumlin Road for the first time.

Dolphin Road runs alongside the canal towards Dolphin's Barn with bus lanes and cycle lanes creating a multi-lane environment. Lessons five and six focus on lane selection, mirror use, and positioning correctly before every turn in this kind of traffic.

Crumlin Road runs the length of Dublin 12 from Dolphin's Barn out towards Drimnagh. It carries buses constantly and the bus lanes narrow things for learners who are not used to them. Parked cars on both sides reduce the room further. We start you on the quieter parts and build towards the full route once your positioning is solid.
Sundrive Road connects through to Kimmage and Harold's Cross. The crossroads near Sundrive Park has traffic lights, filter lanes, and pedestrian crossings all in the same space. Getting the lane right on approach is the skill your instructor will drill here.
Kildare Road is the best early-lesson road in the area. Long, residential, and tight with parked cars, it teaches observation at blind junctions without the pressure of heavy traffic. The estates off Windmill Road are similar. Both feed naturally into the busier routes as your confidence builds.
We can pick you up at the Crumlin Road bus stop near the shopping centre, Sundrive Park, or Pearse Park. Female instructors are available. Most Crumlin learners test at Rathgar Test Centre on Rathgar Road, about 12 minutes away. Some test at Tallaght.
