L1-2: Controls and Positioning
Lessons one and two take place on Gracefield Road and the quieter estate roads off it. You get used to the controls, find your road position, and practise gear changes with minimal traffic pressure. Short rounds, lots of repetition.
Learn about EDTL3-4: Direction Changes and Speed
Coolock Drive introduces proper junction work. The road curves past the shopping centre with several exits and pedestrian crossings. You practise smooth direction changes, signal timing, and speed reduction for each junction you meet.
EDT detailsL5-6: Complex Positioning and Hazards
Tonlegee Road is the setting for lessons five and six. Parked cars force your road position outward and oncoming buses demand quick decisions. You learn to read gaps, hold a steady line, and deal with cyclists filtering between lanes.
Test preparationL7-8: Sharing the Road and Traffic
Oscar Traynor Road introduces speed management on a wider road. The playing fields section feels open but you stay disciplined on the limit. Lesson eight covers the Oscar Traynor junction with the Malahide Road and reading fast-moving traffic from both directions.
Test preparationL9-10: Complex Junctions and Speed Management
The Malahide Road dual carriageway is the big step. Multiple exits, bus lanes, and lane changes that need to be decisive. Lessons nine and ten build your confidence here until the Raheny test centre routes feel like familiar ground.

Tonlegee Road is the east-west spine of Coolock. Heavy on-street parking narrows it in sections, buses pull in and out without much warning, and the traffic flows steadily all day. It is exactly the kind of road your instructor wants you to learn on before your test.
Oscar Traynor Road runs south from Coolock towards the city and it has a wide, open feel that tempts drivers over the limit near the playing fields. Speed management and keeping your eyes ahead are the focus when we use this road. The junction where it meets the Malahide Road is a multi-lane section that comes up regularly on Raheny test routes.
Coolock Drive loops around Northside Shopping Centre with junctions, pedestrian crossings, and bus stops all in quick succession. It is a proper real-world training ground. Gracefield Road nearby is quieter and better for early lessons where you are still building basics.
Pickup points include Northside Shopping Centre car park, Coolock Village crossroads, or the bus stop on Tonlegee Road. Female instructors are available. Your test will be at Raheny Test Centre on All Saints Park, about nine minutes from the shopping centre.
